CROSS-STRAIT NEGOTIATORS TO MEET ON THURSDAY
The eighth meeting between the Taiwan-based Straits Exchange Foundation, and mainland-based Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Strait will begin on Thursday.
Preparation talks between Vice Chairman Kao Koong-lian and Vice President Zheng Lizhong are underway ahead of the meeting. President Chen Yunlin from the Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Strait visited Taipei Zoo to see Panda Tuantuan and Yuanyuan later the same day.
The two pandas are gifts sent by the mainland to Taiwan in 2008. During the next two days, more meetings are expected to focus on boosting further cooperation.
